Cafe Parforce at Klampenborg Station
Exploring is, in Denmark, often best done by bike, and Klampenborg is no different. Cafe Parforce gets you ready for an active ride through the more than 1,100 hectares of nature when you rent bikes from them at Klampenborg Station. Regardless of height and experience, there is a bike for you!
The Deer Park
The Deer Park - og Dyrehavsparken in Danish - has since 2015 been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dyrehaven, which literally means "the deer park", is a natural resort filled with lush forests, small lakes, and wide, open landscapes. As the name might reveal, Dyrehaven is renowned for the more than 2000 free-range deer that inhabit the park, and you'll surely come across a herd of grazing deer on your way through.
The Hermitage
King Christian VI build the Eremitage Castle as a hunting hut in the 1700s. It is one of the greatest late Baroque works in Denmark and there was no expense spared. Most of the interior stands today, as it did hundreds of years ago. The kings ordered gold, silver, silk wallpaper and marble and created a truly lavish experience. A visit today allows you to walk in the footsteps of kings.
Raadvad Kro
As Inan says, when you visit a restaurant in a new country, "try what they are good at." Raadvad Kro is very good at the Danish dishes they do, such as fiskefrikadelle (fish cakes), a classic Danish lunch dish. The old buildings that housed the director of Raadvad Knife factory until 1930 now house the historic Raadvad Kro. The inn’s cosy “living rooms” create the setting for your visit and invite you in for a tasty dining experience.
Ordrupgaard Museum
Ordrupgaard opened in 1918 and consists of several different buildings that have gradually been added to the premises, which today include the main building, the Lavender House, Finn Juhl's house, and the modern extension by Zaha Hadid and Snøhetta. The museum also has a lovely park with art installations and sculptures by various contemporary artists, created specifically for Ordupgaard.
Bellevue Beach
The area around Bellevue on the northern outskirts of Copenhagen is a popular destination for both locals, residents and international tourists. Bellevue is a 700-metre-long sandy beach in Klampenborg that receives around 500,000 visitors a year, making it one of the most popular beaches in the greater Copenhagen area - regardless of season!
