Sydhavnen

Area guide: Authentic Sydhavnen

In Sydhavnen, new and old Copenhagen meet in a neighbourhood full of contrasts. The area around Tegl- and Sluseholmen offers modern architecture connected by small bridges and canals. Here, water is an essential part of local life. On the other side of Sydhavnsgade is the old Sydhavnen, whose history as a working-class neighbourhood still shines through.

Where to stay in Sydhavnen

This part of town is not packed with hotels, but these are good and located close to Vesterbro, Amager and the city centre too.

All roads (and transportation services) lead to Sydhavnen

With the newly opened metro line to multiple places in Sydhavnen, it has never been easier to get there. With both trains, harbour bus,  s-trains, busses and metros, it is easily reachable at every hour of the day, everyday.  If you prefer to arrive in style, the Harbour Bus takes you directly to Orientkajen, where a beautiful route along the water is included in the ticket price
